SENIOR SWING/JAVA DEVELOPER

This is a unique opportunity for someone who has significant Java client side, swing, and multi-threading, multi-user, and n-tier application development experience.  This is a New York based position, requiring exceptional experience and academic qualifications or someone who has the aspiration to break into finance after four or more years of professional development experience. Location: NYC/Job Type: Permanent/Salary: Negotiable.

 

Mandatory skills and experience

  • Extensive Swing/AWT experience
  • Multi-threaded java application
  • Hands-on Java-based multi-tiered and/or distributed enterprise application development experience
  • Strong object oriented design skills
  • Minimum four years professionally in the software development field
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal

Desirable skills and experience

  • Front office financial experience beneficial
  • Automated Unit and Integration test experience

QUANTITATIVE ANALYSTS

Our client is looking for exceptionally talented quantitative analysts. "Quants" will apply mathematical techniques and write software (C/C+/Java) to develop and analyze statistical models for computerized financial trading strategies. Specific responsibilities range from examining trading data in an effort to increase profitability, decrease risk, and reduce transaction costs to conceiving new trading ideas and devising the simulations needed to test them. Successful quant candidates have traditionally been the top students in their respective math, physics, engineering, and computer science programs; a considerable number will have competed successfully in the United States and International Math Olympiads. FLASH DEVELOPER

The Multimedia Developer is responsible for providing innovative, cutting-edge multi-media solutions for high-profile clients. This position requires a thorough understanding of information design, identity design, and technical development, including the ability to clearly communicate creative solutions to stakeholders. Working with Producers and Creative Directors, the Multimedia Developer will help identify and scope deliverable requirements. Additionally, the Multimedia Developer will actively discover and research emerging interactive rich-media technologies, evaluating their potential benefits for current and future projects. Skills include Flash MX/8/CS3, ActionScripting, PhotoShop, Illustrator, Video compression skills, XML, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Database integration (SQL, Access, MySQL), Experience with ASP/ASP.NET. Familiarity with video integration and compression, animation and site optimization. Previous agency experience would be helpful. Location: Wilton, CT/Job Type: Permanent/Salary: $80,000 - $95,000.
